Author Kimberlee Gard takes over our Virtual Storytime to read and talk about her picture book, The Mighty Silent e! This is a Zoom event that will roll onto Facebook Live, so you can register or just login to Facebook and view our livestream at the normal time.
Copies of the book are available with signed bookplates.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Kimberlee Gard spent most of her childhood running from books instead of reading them. A learning disorder held her back until she was taught the tools to overcome her dyslexia. This sparked Kimberlee's aspiration to write books for children that would bring about the same love of reading she eventually found and encourage even the most reluctant and struggling reader. Kimberlee lives on a small farm in Colorado with her husband, sons, and a gaggling group of barnyard friends.
Little e is sure he could be a hero--he even has the cape to prove it! But at school, he is so quiet, he just doesn't stand out. That is, until one day when Little e doesn't show up to class. The other letters don't even notice he's gone at first, but when c, a, and k try to form a word for dessert, they realize that no matter what they do, they can't make it work. The whole class is in an uproar! Without their silent friend, what are they going to do? Will Little e finally get his chance to come to the rescue?
With adorable illustrations, The Mighty Silent e teaches spelling and vowel sounds in a new, exciting way that is sure to engage even the most stubborn reader.
