You all know Marissa Meyer from The Lunar Chronicles and Renegades, but she's publishing her first YA rom-com, Instant Karma, and we're hosting a Virtual Meet and Greet with her!
This ticketed event will take place on Zoom. Attendees will receive a signed bookplate, a copy of Instant Karma, and a chance to meet Marissa briefly in a virtual signing line.
This is a ticketed virtual event and seats are limited. In order to attend, please purchase a copy of Instant Karma from Katy Budget Books. We will send you an email closer to the date of the event with details on how to log in. Also, we'll include a bookplate signed by the author for you to place in your book! International shipping may be available to some countries. Please email email@example.com to inquire.
There will also be a public launch event on Friday, November 6th, at 7 PM CT, via Crowdcast, in case we sell out of seats for our Meet and Greet. You can register for the public event here.
We expect all participants to maintain an atmosphere of respect and fairness. Anyone who violates this standard of behavior including engaging in any form of harassment, may, at the discretion of the organizers, be immediately removed.
Marissa Meyer is the #1 New York Times-bestselling author of The Lunar Chronicles, Heartless, The Renegades Trilogy, and Instant Karma, as well as the graphic novel duology Wires and Nerve. She holds a BA in Creative Writing from Pacific Lutheran University and a MA in Publishing from Pace University. She lives near Tacoma, Washington, with her husband and twin daughters.
In Marissa Meyer's young adult contemporary romance, a girl is suddenly gifted with the ability to cast instant karma on those around her - both good and bad.
Chronic overachiever Prudence Daniels is always quick to cast judgment on the lazy, rude, and arrogant residents of her coastal town. Her dreams of karmic justice are fulfilled when, after a night out with her friends, she wakes up with the sudden ability to cast instant karma on those around her.
Pru giddily makes use of the power, punishing everyone from public vandals to mean gossips, but there is one person on whom her powers consistently backfire: Quint Erickson, her slacker of a lab partner. Quint is annoyingly cute and impressively noble, especially when it comes to his work with the rescue center for local sea animals.
When Pru resigns herself to working at the rescue center for extra credit, she begins to uncover truths about baby otters, environmental upheaval, and romantic crossed signals--not necessarily in that order. Her newfound karmic insights reveal how thin the line is between virtue and vanity, generosity and greed . . . love and hate... and fate.
